4-28-09: Toronto Blue Jays at Chicago White Sox Doubleheader

Yesterday, the White Sox and the Blue Jays faced off in a doubleheader.

Game 1

Game 1 featured an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel between Bartolo Colon and Chris Jakubauskas. The White Sox scored their only runs in the fourth inning when Paul Konerko hit in two runs with a double. Aside from one Blue Jays run in the seventh, it was all pitching.

Bartolo Colon pitched 7 innings and allowed only 4 hits and one run, as the White Sox won 2-1.

3 Stars of the Game:

1. Bartolo Colon: 7.0 innings, 1 run, 4 hits, 6 strikeouts.

2. Chris Jakubauskas: 8.0 innings, 2 runs, 2 hits.

3. Paul Konerko: 1-for-3, 2 RBI double.

Game 2

The late game was much worse, featuring a 9-1 defeat. John Danks and the offense struggled a whole lot.

It was the Seattle Mariners not the Toronto Blue Jays

Wow, I guess I wasn’t thinking at the time. I was focused on the Bulls game. And Mariners are even in the “tag” box.

Sheesh, that was a careless mistake, sorry ’bout that!
